Anything wrong with my laptop's hdd? - gateway refurb

I have a laptop Refurb at Tiger Direct. Md2614u is a fool. I wondered why my laptop only 218g on my hard drive, but Tiger Direct, says the 250G. For now it's 193g to 218g without system restore point. If there is a system restore point, it would be 160g of 218g. When I bought the laptop, no CD for Vista IM guess who in my hard disk. That is why my hard drive was eaten?. Sorry if I did not make much sense.
I need to know simply whether there is a problem with my drive or in any way with more space

-In a 64-bit Vista, which helps when someone with my question

Any response is greatly appreciated

When it comes preloaded with Vista, you have to create some recovery discs, usually 2 and some DVDs for entertainment at home, I would as soon as possible, as only a backup copy of the operating system with which a ground. If you recovery discs, and I think you can delete what's on your hard drive space to get back, I'm not sure, but the question of where you wonder who bought it do?

It has 234GB to use, if i = 1GB billion. If you 1.07 million bytes = 1 GB, has a smaller number. Then there is restore the swap file (probably 8 GB or more) and a partition that a few UK shows

The computer industry consider 1GB to 1024 * 1024 * 1024 bytes. The music industry as a "concert" to 1 billion - giving them more. It is also incorrect.

They have a sense - is a common question.
